For 20 years now, Sorok Uni Foundation has been actively helping Persons Affected by Leprosy, Homeless and Displaced Families and Individuals, Underprivileged Children, and Disadvantaged Indigenous People in the Philippines.
For the first half of 2022, SUFI was able to help almost 2,000 individuals through the following programs and services:
Provision of toiletries and hygiene kits to Persons Affected with Leprosy in MCS General Hospital and Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital
Scholarship Assistance to Sorok Dream Project scholars
Modular learning to Child Development Center pupils
Weekend feeding homeless and displaced individuals
Medical assistance to beneficiaries with special needs
Mitigating the Digital Divide in Education on Ethnic Minority Mangyan in the Philippines (Digital Literacy Project in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
Provision of livestock to qualified families and individual under the Housing Assistance under Project New Life
Psychological assistance under the Kaagapay Mental Health
Cash for work opportunities for Persons affected by Leprosy in Region IV-A
Medical services during the 20th Anniversary Medical Missions held in NCR, Region IV-A,and Region IX
In the coming months, our goal is to provide better quality services to our beneficiaries through improved policies and additional programs to cater more sectors in need. SUFI also has fundraising activities lined up to gather funds for the ongoing and planned services. These include Sorok Virtual Run, Sorok Short Film Festival, Sorok Dream Project Sponsor-a-Dream, Sorok Donation Box, and Sorok Christmas Cheer.
